Although Samuel Peck snr was born in Wellington in 1850, his parents, 4 older 
siblings and 4 of his uncles arrived on the  CATHERINE STEWART FORBES into Port Nicholson 
on 24 June 1841, having left Gravesend London on 5th Feb., a journey of 109 days. 
 
The cost was equivalent to 5 months earnings for a labourer - todays comparison would 
cost about $12,000 - it was important for the Government to introduce assisted 
immigration. 
The New Zealand Company sent out the 1st reduced fares passage - the PHOEBE - 
which arrived in March 1843.
During the Government Scheme 93% of immigrants took advantage of this, with 100,000 
migrants from UK brought to the colony under the scheme

Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
